LanShift

Automatically switches Wi-Fi based on Ethernet state to reduce dual-connection risk on Windows endpoints.

.NET Apache 2.0 planning WindowsnetworkingendpointWi-Fi

LanShift Lite is a Windows service and tray application that disables Wi-Fi when Ethernet is connected and enables Wi-Fi when Ethernet is disconnected.

It is designed for environments where endpoints should not stay connected to Wi-Fi and wired networks at the same time. That helps reduce dual-connection risk, keeps network behavior predictable, and gives IT teams a lightweight utility for a common endpoint problem.

Lite Features

  • Automatic Ethernet and Wi-Fi switching.
  • Manual Wi-Fi toggle from the system tray.
  • Optional DHCP release before Wi-Fi is disabled.
  • Secure, authenticated local named-pipe IPC.
  • Local JSON settings.
  • Windows Application Event Log events with stable IDs.
  • Rolling diagnostic file logs.
  • Self-contained ZIP deployment for Windows 10 and Windows 11.

Why It Matters

Dual network connections can create routing confusion, policy gaps, and inconsistent endpoint behavior. LanShift gives organizations a focused way to prefer wired connections when present and restore Wi-Fi when needed.

Product Direction

LanShift Lite is the public foundation. Enterprise policy, MSI, GPO/ADMX, DNS registration, centralized management, commercial licensing, and policy-enforced UI controls are reserved for LanShift Pro.
